New Helpful Applicant Tools

By Guest Blogger Melinda, Human Resources

Earlier this year we implemented a more user friendly system to apply for jobs at Esri. In addition to a more streamlined application process, we can now offer several new features to enhance your applicant experience, including job alerts and using social media accounts to create and update your profile.

Job Alerts
Looking for a new job can be time consuming, so let our system tell you when a new job is posted! You can create up to two “Job Alerts” to be notified when new positions related to your career interests become available. To begin, perform a normal job search—enter keywords if desired and select a career path, if known, to get a list of matching jobs. Didn’t find any current openings you’re interested in? This is where the Job Alert comes in handy. From the job results page, name your search and click the “Create Job Search” button. The system will automatically send you an e-mail whenever a new job meeting your search criteria is posted. You can change or cancel a Job Alert at any time by logging back into your account.

Social Media Accounts
Another great feature is the ability to apply using your Facebook or LinkedIn account. When you select this option, the system will automatically pull basic contact information from your social media account. When applying, you just upload a resumé and cover letter and you’re done. Applying isn’t the only way to use this feature however. As a returning candidate, you’re able to link your social media account to your Esri profile by selecting the “Update your Profile” option from your Esri account. The advantage of connecting the two or creating a profile using your social media account is that your Esri profile will always display the most updated contact information available. As you update your social media account, the changes you make will automatically be reflected in our system. It’s a great way to make sure we always have your current contact information for future career opportunities.

These are just two of the new features candidates now have access to. We encourage you to take advantage of them!
